We refinished my childhood kitchen table, along with 6 chairs and a bench. Stripped the previous paint / finish and sanded all the way down to bare wood before finishing with a paint / stain combo.
Stripping and sanding all the spindles and tight curvy services was a truly nasty and brutal job. Kaylin and I did it in our garage in a cold wet November and both have terrible memories of it.
But the end result was fantastic and we were able to make a 20+ year old table with lots of wear and tear (from a family of 6!) feel like new. It should have a long life with our family.
